TRANSPARENCY

& ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT

At Velor, transparency is at the core of everything we do. From material sourcing to production and impact measurement, we openly share our journey to drive meaningful change.

Our value chain, partners, and life cycle analysis play a key role in this process. Discover on this page how we collaborate to make a positive impact.

Our partners shape the value chain of our products, each following a unique journey involving diverse people and processes. We strive to build lasting relationships with our value chain partners, ensuring the highest standards in every product we create

In our quest for the most sustainable and circular cycling apparel, we have partenered with Felicitas, a dedicated sustainability researcher and expert in life cycle analaysis. Since 2020, Felicitas has worked as a PhD student at Maastricht University, focusing on sustainability assessments of plastics in textiles and packaging. Her expertise and passion make her invaluable part of our mission

At Velor, we take responsability for the resources we use and the impact we have on people, animals and the planet.

We believe that the true joy of cycling lies not just in the ride, bu in the environment it takes place in.

Circular Economy Waste Collectors

At Velor, we collaborate with Aquafil in Italy and SEAQUAL INITIATIVE in Spain to transform plastic waste into high-quality yarns for our cycling jerseys. Aquafil's ECONYL® Regeneration System recycles discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps, and industrial plastic waste into regenerated nylon, offering the same quality and performance as virgin nylon.

SEAQUAL INITIATIVE is a unique collaborative community that transforms marine litter into sustainable textile solutions—yarn and fiber—branded as THE OCEANIC LINE.

Seaqual's mission is to collect plastic waste from oceans and rivers and turn it into high-quality textiles, driving real, positive change for a cleaner planet.

Yarn Producers

To create our high-quality yarns, we collaborate with Antex and Aquafil, two industry leaders in sustainable textile innovation. Antex specializes in advanced recycled polyester yarns, ensuring durability and performance while reducing environmental impact. Aquafil produces ECONYL® regenerated nylon, made from discarded fishing nets and industrial waste, giving new life to materials that would otherwise pollute our planet. Through these partnerships, we transform waste into premium fabrics for our cycling apparel, combining sustainability with top performance.

Fabric partners

To create our high-performance fabrics, we collaborate with leading textile innovators: SPW Argentona in Spain, and Sitip, Pigidi, and Carvico in Italy. SPW Argentona specializes in sustainable fabric development, ensuring eco-friendly solutions for technical apparel. Sitip is renowned for its advanced warp-knit fabrics, offering superior elasticity and durability. Pigidi brings expertise in high-quality printed and laminated textiles, while Carvico is a pioneer in recycled and performance-driven stretch fabrics. Together, these partners help us craft premium, sustainable materials that enhance comfort, aerodynamics, and durability in every Velor garment.

Creation of Garments

Using these sustainable fabrics, our skilled seamstresses carefully cut and stitch each piece to create our iconic jerseys and bib shorts. Did you know it takes about 40 minutes to craft one single Velor item? Quality over quantity!

Designing a Velor cycling jersey is just the beginning of a precise and technical process. Once the design is finalized, expert pattern makers create templates to ensure a perfect fit.

The selected fabric is then carefully cut to match these patterns, optimizing both the fit and comfort. Next comes sublimation, where heat and pressure fuse the design into the fabric, ensuring vibrant, long-lasting colors.

Skilled seamstresses then stitch the pieces together with precision, reinforcing key areas for durability. Every jersey undergoes rigorous quality control, checking for flawless seams, perfect prints, and overall craftsmanship.
