At Velor, we collaborate with Aquafil in Italy and SEAQUAL INITIATIVE in Spain to transform plastic waste into high-quality yarns for our cycling jerseys. Aquafil's ECONYL® Regeneration System recycles discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps, and industrial plastic waste into regenerated nylon, offering the same quality and performance as virgin nylon.
SEAQUAL INITIATIVE partners with ocean clean-ups to collect marine litter, which is then transformed into SEAQUAL® YARN, a sustainable polyester fiber. By utilizing these innovative materials, we contribute to reducing ocean pollution and promoting a circular economy.
To create our high-quality yarns, we collaborate with Antex and Aquafil, two industry leaders in sustainable textile innovation. Antex specializes in advanced recycled polyester yarns, ensuring durability and performance while reducing environmental impact. Aquafil produces ECONYL® regenerated nylon, made from discarded fishing nets and industrial waste, giving new life to materials that would otherwise pollute our planet. Through these partnerships, we transform waste into premium fabrics for our cycling apparel, combining sustainability with top performance.
To create our high-performance fabrics, we collaborate with leading textile innovators: SPW Argentona in Spain, and Sitip, Pigidi, and Carvico in Italy. SPW Argentona specializes in sustainable fabric development, ensuring eco-friendly solutions for technical apparel. Sitip is renowned for its advanced warp-knit fabrics, offering superior elasticity and durability. Pigidi brings expertise in high-quality printed and laminated textiles, while Carvico is a pioneer in recycled and performance-driven stretch fabrics. Together, these partners help us craft premium, sustainable materials that enhance comfort, aerodynamics, and durability in every Velor garment.
Lemos & Moreira and Fradel Sports in Portugal, along with Lawi Sports in the Czech Republic, are key partners in bringing our cycling apparel to life. Lemos & Moreira specializes in high-quality, technical sportswear manufacturing, ensuring precision in fabric assembly and stitching. Fradel Sports focuses on innovation and craftsmanship, delivering top-tier cycling gear with exceptional durability. Lawi Sports, with its deep expertise in cycling apparel, helps refine our garments for optimal performance and comfort. Together, these partners transform our sustainable fabrics into premium cycling jerseys, combining quality, functionality, and eco-conscious production.
To fully achieve our circular mission, we are partnering with GR3N and textile sorters like RD4 and Sympany to completely close the loop. GR3N’s innovative recycling technology enables the breakdown of polyester into its raw components, making it possible to create new, high-quality fibers from old garments. Meanwhile, RD4 and Sympany play a crucial role in collecting and sorting textiles, ensuring that discarded clothing is repurposed instead of ending up as waste. Through these partnerships, we are taking the next step toward a fully circular production cycle, where every jersey can eventually be reborn into a new one.
We encourage you to return your Velor cycling wear, once it's no longer needed, allowing us to recycle it into new sustainable garments.
