Polyester is a synthetic fibre made from petroleum-derived polymers. Conventional polyester production is energy-intensive and relies on fossil fuels.
What Is Recycled Polyester?
Recycled polyester (rPET) is made by melting down and re-extruding existing plastic — most commonly post-consumer plastic bottles, but also discarded fishing nets, industrial waste, and old garments. The resulting fibre has the same technical performance as virgin polyester but doesn't require new petroleum extraction.
