Innovative materials for circular cycling

This collection, described as the most environmentally responsible on the market, features innovative materials such as recycled marine waste in its jerseys and bib shorts.

Our bib shorts and jackets include ECONYL® fiber, a 100% recycled and recyclable nylon developed by AQUAFIL, made from waste like abandoned fishing nets and industrial carpets. This regeneration process goes beyond recycling—it transforms waste into high-quality raw materials, ready to go the distance.

For our jerseys, we work with the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, a collective actively fighting marine plastic pollution. In collaboration with fishermen, ports, and NGOs, SEAQUAL recovers marine waste and transforms it into a technical fiber – SEAQUAL® YARN – used in our apparel.

Measuring to improve: Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)

At VELOR, we don’t stop at recycling. Each product undergoes a complete Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), conducted with a sustainability researcher from Maastricht University and our suppliers.
Our goal? To measure the CO₂ emissions tied to our production, along with fossil resource use and water consumption—and implement actions to reduce our environmental footprint.
From raw material extraction to end-of-life, including manufacturing, transport, use, and recycling, this rigorous methodology drives every design decision.

Thanks to this in-depth analysis, a Velor jersey emits just 0.98 kg of CO₂, which is 68% less than a traditional petroleum-based synthetic jersey.
