A "recycled" jersey doesn't tell you much. Recycled from what? How much of it? And what happens to it once you stop wearing it?
At VELOR we've made recycled cycling jerseys from day one, and we learned one thing along the way: the word isn't enough. Here's what's really inside each of our jerseys, for men and women.

First, a jersey that rides
Before it's sustainable, a cycling jersey has to disappear after five hours in the saddle. That's the first requirement, and it's not negotiable.
- Laser-cut sleeves. No seam, no hem squeezing your arm.
- Light, quick-drying fabric. Sweat moves out, even on summer climbs.
- Room for everything. Three rear pockets and a zipped pocket for keys and phone.
- A pocket for empty wrappers. So nothing ends up on the roadside.

Our three families of recycled jerseys
Summer jerseys: 83% recycled polyester
Dunes, Forest, Sea and Night, in men's and women's fits, made for riding between 16 and 32°C. The fabric is 83% recycled polyester, from plastic bottles and, up to 15%, waste recovered from the sea. Yarn and fabric are made in Spain, printing and sewing in Portugal. Recycled YKK NATULON® Plus zip, bluesign®, GRS and OEKO-TEX® certified.

Long sleeve jerseys: 86% recycled polyamide
For the shoulder season, between 3 and 12°C. A brushed, stretchy Italian fabric with a matte feel, made from 86% recycled polyamide from pre-consumer waste (production offcuts that would otherwise be thrown away) and 14% elastane. Sewn in Portugal. Some colours are dyed with the Nano Earth Dyeing process, which uses over 50% less water than conventional dyeing.

RELOV: the jersey made from old jerseys
This is where we go beyond recycled. RELOV is made from end-of-life jerseys: 85% recycled textile, 15% elastane, and 69% less CO₂. Same second-skin fit, same pockets, same performance standard. For men and women, in Dunes and Forest. Discover RELOV

See the JerseysRecycled isn't enough
A jersey made from plastic bottles beats one made from virgin polyester. But the bottle never becomes a bottle again, and the jersey never becomes a jersey again: the loop stays open. That's why we created RELOV, a jersey that comes from old jerseys. Here's the difference in detail.
Our take: recycled is a starting point, not proof. What matters is being able to say where every fibre comes from, and where it goes next.
And to be honest all the way: today RELOV only comes in two colours, and the rest of the range is recycled, not yet circular. We're working on it, and we'll tell you where we're at.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a recycled and a circular jersey?
A recycled jersey is made from waste of another origin (plastic bottles, fishing nets, production offcuts). A circular jersey is made from old textiles, so textile becomes textile again. Our summer and long sleeve jerseys are recycled. RELOV is circular.
Where do the fibres in your jerseys come from?
Summer jerseys: plastic bottles and, up to 15%, waste recovered from the sea, spun into yarn in Spain. Long sleeves: polyamide production offcuts, woven in Italy. RELOV: end-of-life jerseys, collected and turned back into fibre, yarn and fabric.
How much recycled material is in each jersey?
83% for summer jerseys, 86% for long sleeves, and 85% recycled textile (old jerseys) for RELOV. The figure is on every product page.
Is a recycled jersey as performant?
Yes. Recycled polyester and polyamide have the same properties as their virgin versions. Performance comes from the cut and the weave.
