RELOV - Five years to make possible what the industry said was impossible.

Behind cycling's "green" image, one reality remains: almost all technical garments are still made from virgin petroleum-based materials. With no circular logic whatsoever. Recycled plastic bottles look good on labels, but they only shift the problem. Plastic enters the textile industry, and never comes back out.

In 2020, VELOR founded its mission around a simple, radical conviction: a worn jersey should be able to become a new jersey. Not a bottle. Not insulation. A jersey. The loop closes. Resources stay in the circuit.

The industry said: impossible.

Five years later, RELOV is here.

The VELOR loop: from used to new, without extraction.

RELOV is not just another "made with recycled materials" jersey. It's a complete system, a value chain entirely redesigned around one principle: never create new resources when resources already exist.

Here's how the loop works:

Collection — Old jerseys are collected in France and the Netherlands, managed directly by VELOR.
Preparation — The textile is sorted and prepared in France.
Chemical recycling — This is where everything changes. Our partners break down polyester to its base molecules. The fabric isn't shredded or melted — it's literally "dismantled" at the molecular level to recreate a quality raw material.
Spinning —  transforms this material back into fibre.
Knitting —  weaves the high-performance technical fabric.
Assembly — assembles the final jersey.

End of life: the RELOV jersey returns to collection. The loop closes again.

100% European. 100% traceable. From first thread to last wear.

What the numbers say — measured, not marketed.

VELOR doesn't like promises without proof. RELOV's impact has been independently measured by Maastricht University, in collaboration with all our chain partners.

  • −68% CO₂ compared to an equivalent standard jersey.
  • 85% recycled textile waste in every jersey produced.
  • 100% recyclable, in a closed loop.
  • ~0.9 kg CO₂e per jersey, versus approximately 2.8 kg for a conventional jersey.

Independent study, Maastricht University, in collaboration with our suppliers.

Why this is a breakthrough — not just an improvement.

The majority of "sustainable jerseys" on the market operate on the same logic: recycling plastic bottles to make textile polyester. That's an improvement. It's not a solution.

Why? Because those plastic bottles leave the plastic recycling circuit to enter textiles. And once in textiles, they never come back out. They end up in landfill or incineration.

RELOV reverses this logic. Recycled textile stays in textile. We don't draw from other industries. We extract no virgin resources. We keep what already exists in circulation, infinitely.

That's real circularity. Not a label. A process.

Same price. Different choice.

RELOV is available at €139 — the same price as a conventional high-end jersey made in Asia from virgin materials.

This identical price hides a radically different reality. Where a standard jersey invests heavily in marketing and margins, RELOV invests in recycled material and 100% European production.

Same price. But where others fund their image, we fund a supply chain.

This is only the beginning.

RELOV is the first piece of a larger puzzle. By 2028, the goal is to shift 100% of the VELOR range to RELOV technology. By 2030, to bring together 500,000 ambassadors around a shared conviction: sportswear can and must evolve towards zero waste.

Every RELOV jersey you wear is further proof that it's possible. And when you return it to collection in a few years, it will become proof that it works, again and again.

Stop buying. Start reloving.
